Applies Toworksheetjs.com & npm packages

WorksheetJs respects your privacy. We collect only what is necessary to run your account and deliver the service. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

01 — What We Collect

Information we gather

  • Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
  • License information — which plan you are on and the domains you register.
  • Billing information — handled entirely by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). We do not store payment card details.
  • Contact messages — messages you send via the contact form, used only to respond to your enquiry.
  • Basic analytics — anonymised page view data to understand how the site is used. This is not linked to your account.

02 — What We Don't Collect

Data we never touch

  • Spreadsheet content, cell data, or any documents created with our packages
  • Data entered into applications built by third parties using WorksheetJs
  • Browsing history or cross-site tracking data
  • Marketing profiles or behavioral data

Our AI chat assistant is limited to public documentation. It has no access to your account or any spreadsheet data.

03 — How We Use Your Data

Why we need your information

  • To create and manage your account
  • To issue and verify your license
  • To process payments and send receipts
  • To respond to support requests
  • To improve the website and product

We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

04 — Data Sharing

We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate the platform — payment processing, email delivery, and cloud hosting. Each provider is bound by their own privacy obligations.

05 — Your Rights

Access, correction, and deletion

You can at any time request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct your name or email
  • Delete your account and all associated data

When you delete your account, we cancel any active subscription so you are not charged again and remove your profile, license, and registered domains. Past payment receipts held by our payment provider are retained under their own record-keeping policies so you can still access them if needed.

To make any of these requests, email support@worksheetjs.com. We will respond within 5 business days.

06 — Changes

Policy updates

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and notify registered users by email before the changes take effect.

07 — Contact

Privacy questions

For any privacy-related questions, email us at support@worksheetjs.com.

08 — Cookies

How we use cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies to operate this website. This includes:

  • Session cookies required for account login and dashboard access.
  • Anonymised analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. These are not linked to your account and do not track you across other websites.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from logging in.

09 — Data Retention

How long we keep your data

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we remove your personal data (name, email, license, and registered domains) within 14 days. Payment receipts and transaction records are retained by Paddle under their own record-keeping policies and remain accessible to you through Paddle.

10 — GDPR — Users in the European Economic Area

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the following applies.

Legal basis for processing:

  • Contract performance— to create and manage your account and deliver the service you subscribed to.
  • Legitimate interest— for anonymised analytics and security monitoring.
  • Consent— for any marketing emails. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing support@worksheetjs.com.

Data transfers: Your data may be processed outside the EEA by our service providers (including Paddle for payments and our cloud hosting provider). Where this occurs, appropriate safeguards are in place.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority if you believe your personal data has been processed unlawfully.
